We made it back to Jersey in tact but had a blast in Boston! We met a lot of cool people from new customers, to repeat customers who made the trip out, to all the other brands involved in the event. Months and months of planning the First Annual Boston Tee Party & Artist & Design Expo and I’d have to say for the first year, it was a definite success! Huge thanks to the host, Kelly Murphy of The Tee Gazette & Saucewear . Though Winky Boo was co-host of the Boston Tee Party, Kelly’s strategic and hands-on planning, with her being from the Boston area, was the prime reason this event was such a success the first year!!

One of the best parts of the event was meeting and networking with all the owners of other brands. Indie brands are a pretty close-knit community and we all support & help each other, offer advice & suggestions & really just cheer each other on towards success. It’s a positive vibe being around such great, inspiring individuals yet almost creepy that we all speak daily to each other via email or online and most of us have never met until this event. I got to have some amazing conversations with other brand owners, customers and retailers, got a lot of feedback, support and reassurance that Winky Boo is heading in the right direction.
The event started with 3 guest speakers. One being Winky Boo’s very own photography, Adam from Focused In Photography. Then we opened up the shopping part of the event with our live music performances. Winky Boo sponsored band, Devolver, made the trip all the way from Delaware to Boston to perform & they were awesome!! Our friends, Broad Callings also made the trip out from Jersey to perform along with several other local Boston performers.

All in all we had an incredible time, 7 hour drive and all! Our friend Erick, a huge Indie brand supporter who helps run Thread Meets World came all the way from NJ for the event, while our bud Jared, owner of Design Juices & the Tee Gazette made the haul overseas from England. I wish I could name everyone who we met & who came out to support, but I just don’t have room. We had the best time & are already starting to plan for next years! Here’s some more photos we snapped from the event:
