Stories, dreams, nicknames, characters, animals…both elaborate and dead simple, weave the rich and colorful quilt of childhood. We are who we are much in part to our experiences as children. Personalities emerge early — whether quiet and cuddly, shrieking and skipping, dressing up in costume jewelry or Davy Crockett coonskin caps; this is before self-consciousness seeps in, before worrying about what those around you think of you. You believe anything and everything; skepticism and cynicism don’t exist yet in your world.

Winky Boo was born from the love and playfulness of a grandfather who re-named his three grandchildren: the oldest, Winky, after her performance as a flying monkey in The Wizard of Oz; the youngest, Boo Boo, the soft cuddly pal of Yogi Bear; and myself, Princess, who never left the house without wearing every piece of jewelry I owned, including my crown, of course.

Winky Boo designs are for those who haven’t forgotten what being imaginative is all about.
